Start exercising at home with this simple 20-minute beginner workout. Build strength, improve fitness, and develop a consistent routine.
Your First Home Workout Starts Here
You do not need a gym membership to begin improving your fitness. With a little space, comfortable clothing, and a few minutes of your day, you can build a workout routine that fits your lifestyle.
This beginner-friendly session combines simple movements that work different muscle groups.
Your 20-Minute Workout
Begin with five minutes of gentle marching, arm circles, and bodyweight movements. Then complete two rounds of the following exercises:
- Bodyweight squats: 10 repetitions
- Wall push-ups: 10 repetitions
- Glute bridges: 12 repetitions
- Standing knee raises: 30 seconds
- Bird dogs: 8 repetitions per side
Rest for 30–60 seconds between exercises when needed. Finish with gentle stretching.
How to Build the Habit
Start with two or three sessions per week and allow time for recovery. Focus on good technique rather than speed. As your fitness improves, increase repetitions or add another round.
The most important step is showing up consistently. A manageable workout that you repeat is more useful than an intense routine you cannot maintain.
HomeFlex tip: Schedule your workout at the same time each day to make exercise easier to remember
